StarWalk 2007

Two members of our staff, Tracy & Dianne have taken part in the StarWalk, to help raise awareness of Cancer Care and the services they offer, to raise funds to help keep up with the demand, with centres in Lancaster and Kendal, it is your generosity that will allow this network of support to continue.

This is the first local midnight walk organised by Cancer Care, your local cancer support charity. Following on from a local lady who took part in the Playtex Moonwalk in London in aid of Breast Cancer, this has been some time in the planning.

The StarWalk is a ladies only, sponsored walk which started at midnight on Saturday 12th May 2007, finishing at Lakes Leisure Centre, Kendal and took in a route of 15km/9.3miles around the "Auld Grey Town".

With a tremendous turn out of 1,100 in the rain at midnight on Saturday 12th May, both Tracy and Dianne completed the walk in good time and were rewarded with a medal and breakfast. Tracy raised £445 and Dianne £150. Well done girls!
