Lakelovers - holiday cottages in the Lake District
ambleside

Ambleside and close by

Loved by residents and visitors alike, Ambleside is one of the best known villages in the Lake District. It sits at the head of Lake Windermere, with the heart of the village just ten minutes' walk from the pier at Waterhead.

Ambleside and its surroundings are a photographer's paradise. Local attractions include the tiny Bridge House on the River Rothay, the internationally renowned Hayes Garden World, Adrian Sankey's award-winning glass blowing studio, as well as relaxing boat trips on the Lake.

For the adventurous, walks of varying difficulty surround the village. Wordsworth's home and garden at Rydal Mount are accessible via a pleasant walking track and then there are shops, art galleries and a cinema. We must also highlight the many fine cafés, pubs and restaurants offering a wide and varied choice of fare.

All holidays include FREE private leisure club membership.
