Lake Lodge Studio, Bowness

Arrival day: Saturday | Sleeps: 2

VisitEngland 3 star rated property

This romantic Lake District lodge with hot tub takes a super location; away from the crowds, backing onto open fell and still only a couple of miles from the entertainments of Bowness and Lake Windermere. Lake Lodge Studio is part of the owners home, but has been cleverly converted into a stylish and completely private self-contained unit - extending to a lovely conservatory. Small but perfectly formed, the studio itself includes pleasant dining space for those chilly evenings in. Outside, the pretty garden has a decked patio for meals al-fresco, and a luxurious outdoor jacuzzi - perfect for a soak after a day on foot. 3 day breaks at Lake Lodge Studio are available all year round. The owners regret that this property does not accept babies, and is not advisable for the infirm.

Accommodation in detail
Private parking for 1 car. Enter into the stylish conservatory, which overlooks the decked patio and garden. The open plan studio has a contemporary feel, with special brass bed, compact kitchen and dining area next to a window. Outside there is patio furniture, a strategically placed picnic table within  the garden, and a raised hot tub.

Location
Away from the crowds and pleasantly secluded, this romantic Lake District self-catering property remains enviably convenient. Bowness village, the shores of Lake Windermere and also the Windermere Golf Club are within  a few miles, as is the A591 - the famously scenic road into the heart of the Lakes. Bowness high street is modern and lively, with sophisticated shops, handy supermarkets for stocking up the kitchen, and many excellent choices for eating out. Stroll down to Bowness Pier, where hire boats come and go, and you can travel on the elegant Lake Windermere steamers to Ambleside or Lakeside. Windermere Lake Cruises also offer romantic evening cruises, with buffet food and even live music.

By night, you'll find plenty of choice for an evening out. From traditional Lakeland pubs serving real Cumbrian ale, to sophisticated restaurants and trendy bars - there's something for every taste. You could also choose between the Old Laundry Theatre and Royalty Cinema - both accessible from Bowness high street. For a special treat, we recommend that you sample one of the renowned Lake District gastropubs in the Lyth Valley, just to the east of Bowness. There are several to choose from, but The Mason's Arms at Strawberry Bank follows particularly well after a walk on Gummers How!
