Retaining all its 'olde worlde' charms, this property has been refurbished with such impressive attention to detail that you'll be won over the moment you enter. A captivating fireplace, pretty window seats and traditional country kitchen (with an Aga at its heart) are perfectly enhanced by designer furnishings, stylish presentation and a touch of contemporary chic. Traditional entrance porch with slate floor and seats, and coach lights to guide you at night. Inner porch leads to the slate-floored lounge, warmed by a large rug and adorned with original beams, ancient spice cupboard, feature woodburner and sumptuous furnishings. A bespoke Shaker kitchen, with granite finishes, is open to the dining area - ample space for family dining. A pantry leads off the kitchen, and through a stable door to the walled country garden and furnished patio. Stained glass features on the way upstairs, to the three stunning bedrooms; master with en-suite bathroom and views to Wansfell, second double and twin with views to the lake.

Location
For a peaceful, but perfectly convenient Lake District cottage holiday, especially for keen walkers, Clappersgate is a wonderful location. The tiny hamlet is only a mile from shops, Windermere lake shore attractions and restaurants in Ambleside, nestled at the entrance to the breathtaking Langdale Valley. Inspiring scenery, renowned Lake District walks on the Landgale Pikes and vibrant village life are therefore all within incredibly easy reach.
Ambleside is noted as the 'gem of the Lake District', thanks to its sublime location on the northern shore of Lake Windermere, it's friendly local character, and also its distinctly cosmopolitan feel. Lose-yourself shops, tempting delicatessens, cosy Lakeland pubs and acclaimed Lake District restaurants are all part of the hustle and bustle of this memorable village.
The Langdale Valley is the most photographed part of the Lake District National Park, and you'll soon see why. Wander through breathtaking scenery, untouched and barely inhabited, bar a few excellent country pubs and a scattering of traditional Lake District cottages.
