The 'topsy turvy' layout is ingenious, and the interior design a fabulous blend of traditional Lakeland character and modern sophistication. The handcrafted country kitchen, the sumptuous lounge, the cosy snug and the quite lavish bedrooms - the property has to be explored to be fully appreciated. You'll also find endless dining space - a perfect retreat for family or friendly occasions.

Upstairs to the middle floor: Spacious lounge with open fire and access to the lake view conservatory. 'Snug' with videos, board games and Playstation 2. Dining hall opening out to a hidden furnished courtyard. Cloakroom with access to the stunning enclosed garden. Upstairs again to the fabulous king-size bedroom suite (with en-suite double shower), lovely double bedroom and twin bedroom. House bathroom with shower over bath.

Clappersgate is a small hamlet, wonderfully located between Ambleside village and the breathtaking Langdale Valley. Enjoying views to Lake Windermere and all the peace that comes with an out-of-town location, Willow Hill remains incredibly convenient for Ambleside village centre and the entertainment and attractions it has to offer. Or, if you prefer the wilder side of the Lakes you only need wander west into the Langdale Valley to soak up the unforgettable scenery!
Ambleside itself is a popular Lakeland village on the northern shores of Lake Windermere. Historic, attractive and full of traditional charm, the village has grown to become one of the most sophisticated communities in the Lake District. Smart shops, lazy cafes, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and even two cinemas…there's plenty for all ages to do. Of course, a highlight of the village is its location! On the shores of the lake and surrounded by dramatic mountains, you will never forget that you're at the heart of the Lakes. Walk from the village centre to Waterhead Pier, and you'll find 'steamer' cruises departing regularly to Bowness and Lakeside. What a way to explore car-free!
