Ambleside village centre is only a short stroll away. There you'll find sophisticated shopping, handy supermarkets and tempting cafes. For evening entertainment, there is plenty to choose from. Sample one of Ambleside's acclaimed Lake District restaurants, sample some real Lakeland Ale in a cosy traditional pub, or enjoy a pizzas, movies and live Jazz at Zeffirellis Cinema, Pizzeria and Jazz Bar.
Ambleside is located off the northern shores of Lake Windermere. Stroll just outside the village centre to Waterhead Pier, and you can take to the water on one of the elegant Windermere 'steamers'. The boats ferry passengers the full length of the lake with stops at Bowness and Lakeside - explore car-free!
