Immersed in Beatrix Potter's best-loved landscapes, the whitewashed exterior is a delight to arrive at. Step inside, and you'll find the picture completed by traditional cast iron open fire, thick cottage walls, old exposed beams and storybook window seats. The elegant master bedroom will make any couple feel rather special, and cooking and dining in will be a pleasure. But don't miss the Tower Bank Arms - Near Sawrey's acclaimed country pub. As the visitor's book says, you'll have a 'lovely stay in this gorgeous cottage'. Please note: This property does not allow children under 7yrs.

Enter to a delightful lounge with exposed beams, inset down lighting, window seat and deep-cushioned sofas surrounding the open fire. The lounge is open to the dining room, and the gorgeous kitchen which is separated by an attractive old oak beam.
This is a lovely place to cook and serve a meal, with a stable door leading to the small patio area. Upstairs to the two bedrooms; stunning master double with two deep-silled windows and sofa, plus additional bedroom with 3/4 bed. Modern, fresh house bathroom.

Location
A holiday cottage in Near Sawrey places you at the heart of Beatrix Potter country, and at the heart of the Lakes. You'll soon see why the author was inspired by the spectacular countryside scenes and the tranquility of Esthwaite Water (fictional home of 'Jeremy Fisher') which lies between Near Sawrey and Hawkshead village. In the landscapes around Near Sawrey, you'll find plenty of memorable places to explore - even if you don't want to be too energetic. The spectacular Tarn Hows walk is a favourite for it's serene beauty. Grizedale Forest is a magical place, riddled with bike tracks, footpaths and sculpture trails. Keen walkers will be brilliantly placed to reach the starting points of many of the Lake District's famous walks, and if you'd like to visit Bowness on the other side of Lake Windermere, you only need drive a few miles to the car ferry crossing.

Nearby Hawkshead village provides a visitor experience all of its own, with its car-free cobbled streets, air of history and fascinating attractions to boot - including the Hawkshead Grammar School museum (a real step back in time) and the former home of Beatrix Potter, open to the public at Hill Top. But the village is also your bolt hole for shops and facilities - stock up the kitchen with tasty local produce at the Honeypot delicatessen, and sample a few of the excellent eateries in the village. Another nearby must-see Lakeland village is Ambleside, another popular Lake District self-catering location for its friendly, lively centre and its position on the shores of Lake Windermere.
