Location
A holiday cottage in Far Sawrey takes you away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Windermere's eastern shores. Situated to the west of the Lake, this sleepy hamlet of traditional Lakeland cottages lies between the car-ferry crossing to Bowness and the famous village of Hawkshead. Glorious Lake District walks surround you, with excellent Lake District country pubs en-route and no need to even use your car.
The picture postcard village of Hawkshead is only a couple of miles away, just past Esthwaite Water. Only slightly further afield you'll find useful shops, cafes and excellent restaurants in Ambleside, where Windermere Lake Cruises also depart to ferry you the full length of the lake. Close by to the west is Coniston Water, where more boating activity awaits along with the opportunity to visit the Brantwood historic house - you'll never forget the wonderful views across Coniston Water from Brantwood's Jumping Jenny Coffee House and Restaurant.
At the heart of the Lakes, away from the crowds but with easy access to our most popular villages, Far Sawrey is a true Lakeland gem.
