Location
Self-catering accommodation in Windermere provides an accessible and easy base from which to explore the delights of lake shore life, or the entire Lake District if you wish! Train and bus connections go straight to the village, arriving next to the excellent Booths supermarket and the headquarters of Lakeland Limited. Bus routes depart throughout the Lakes from the village, and if you're travelling by car you'll find your location off the A591 a really handy place to start.

There are several lovely cafes and restaurants within reach of your holiday cottage in Windermere, as well as useful shops and traditional Lake District pubs. Only a few miles down the road in Bowness Bay, you'll find an even wider range of entertainment including boating activities on the Lake. Windermere Lake Cruises depart from the bay to ferry you the full length of the lake, with stops at Ambleside and Lakeside. Hire boats come and go, and if you're faced with a rainy day, there's always the Royalty Cinema or the famous World of Beatrix Potter attraction.
