Although enjoying the tranquility of private garden and far-reaching views, this wonderful Lake District holiday home lies only a gentle stroll from the Lake District's liveliest holiday destination, Bowness, and the world-famous shores of Lake Windermere.Bowness is a contemporary Lake District village, nestled on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere. The high street is well-served with handy supermarkets, sophisticated shops and a wide range of excellent eateries. There is also a cinema and theatre.
There are many family attractions in Bowness. The World of Beatrix Potter is on the high street, a must for kids or Beatrix Potter fans! Potter fans might also like to take the car-ferry over the lake to visit the author's former home, Hill Top, near Hawkshead. Hire boats are available on Lake Windermere, and mini golf and tennis are found on the Glebe on the lake shore. Windermere Golf Club is just outside the village, and boating facilities are available at Windermere Marina.
Keen walkers will find easy access to many popular Lake District walking routes. Head up to Gummers How to admire Lake Windermere from on high, or take the car ferry across the lake to explore walking routes near Hawkshead. Grizedale Forest is also easily accessible via the car ferry, and full of family fun with walking paths, cycle tracks and sculpture trails.
