A traditional 'picture postcard'. Lakeland stone built cottage on a magical setting overlooking Grasmere Green, Becksteps Cottage is close to all the village amenities including pubs, restaurants, shops, art galleries, garden centres and bus services to Keswick and Windermere. Grasmere is the heart of the Lake District and central for walking in all directions and for all abilities.
A car park pass is provided for the Wordsworth Hotel (approximately 150 metres away). Becksteps Cottage is so central it is practical to park when you arrive and not need the car again until you leave. There is time restricted parking directly outside the cottage. Broadband and WiFi are installed. This cottage has proven to be very popular and many visitors return year after year.

Accommodation in detail
The cottage is full of character. The small porch leads into the lounge with dining area. It boasts sumptuous sofas and a slate fire place set on a substantial oak floor. A small cloakroom is ideal for clothes and boots and fuel for the open fire. The fully equipped kitchen is beyond and that leads into a gravelled courtyard with garden furniture. Here you will find the coal house and substantial secure bicycle store. Up the traditional winding cottage staircase there are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed. The en-suite has a large powerful shower. WC and hand basin. The second bedroom has two full size single beds. Both bedrooms have digital TV and views of the fells. In addition there is a fully tiled house shower room with WC and basin.

Becksteps Cottage holds a sought-after location at the heart of Grasmere village, world-renowed for the inspiring surroundings that moved William Wordsworth to write his best-loved poetry. The village is popular yet peaceful, full of character and bursting with spellbinding history. Visit Dove Cottage, Wordsworth's home, explore acclaimed watercolour galleries and visit the world-famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop for a step back in time. Stocking up is easy at Booths supermarket (Keswick / Windermere).

Walks nearby include easy routes surrounding Grasmere and Rydal Water, or more challenging routes on Fairfield, Silver How, Helm Crag and Loughrigg. A popular starting point for Helvellyn is only a short drive away at Thirlmere.
