A self-catering apartment in Ambleside provides a perfect base for a Lake District holiday - you'll be surrounded by breathtaking scenery and close to Lake Windermere, but you'll also enjoy the convenience of a sophisticated village community on your doorstep.
Ambleside is located on the northern shores of Lake Windermere, reached via the scenic A591 road. Popular for walking holidays in the Lake District, Ambleside is also the most vibrant location in terms of shopping, eating and evening entertainment. Stroll to the lake shore at Waterhead Pier, and you'll be able to take a Windermere Lake cruise to Bowness and Lakeside. It's a great way to explore, soak up the scenery and leave the car behind.
We also recommend exploring some of the excellent country pubs near Ambleside, such as the famous Drunken Duck Inn and Restaurant - a must for special occasions and only a short drive or taxi ride away.
