Location
Todd Crag enjoys a superb location for a Lakeland bolt hole, peacefully away from the bustle of Ambleside village yet still only a short walk to all its facilities and entertainments.
Ambleside village is found on the northern shores of Lake Windermere, with Clappersgate just to its west. The village is historic and attractive, and has grown to become one of the Lake District's most sophisticated communities without losing its traditional charm. Traditional Lakeland cottages and buildings line the streets, along with excellent cafes, quality shops and boutiques, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and even two interesting cinema venues.
For a romantic cruise on Lake Windermere, wander to Waterhead Pier just outside the village centre. From there, traditional 'steamers' depart regularly to Bowness and Lakeside. In summer, evening cruises are also available with live music and dining!
Clappersgate also takes a divine location for those in the Lakes to walk and explore wilder landscapes. A walk or short drive leads to the Langdale Valley, renowned for its dramatic scenery and remote feel. Coniston Water and numerous renowned hikes are also easily reached.
