There are numerous restaurants in Ambleside, including several on the shores of Lake Windermere, as well as the famous Zefferelis Pizzeria, Jazz Bar and Cinema.
If a 'Steamer' Lake Windermere cruise takes your fancy, it is only a few minutes walking distance from Ambleside town centre to Waterhead Pier.  From here you can tour the various Lakeside villages, including Windermere and Bowness or if you would like to explore further afield, Blencathra offers a central location for driving to Ambleside's surround areas.
