To your west, the Langdale Valley is the most photographed part of the Lake District National Park, and you'll soon see why. Wander through breathtaking scenery, untouched and barely inhabited, bar a few excellent country pubs and a scattering of traditional Lake District cottages.
To explore the wider reaches of the Lake District, a holiday cottage in Clappersgate provides an excellent base. Between Ambleside and Langdale on the A593, you're ideally placed to also explore Grasmere, Hawkshead and Coniston.
