Bridge Syke Cottage, Langdale
Arrival day: Saturday | Sleeps: 4
A magical yet sophisticated, riverside Lake District cottage in the adorable hamlet of Elterwater, at the gateway to the Langdale Valley. Bridge Syke Cottage sits pretty as a picture next to an 18th century stone bridge, with rushing river below (overlooked by the front bedroom). The entire interior is cosy and enticing, with a delightful fireplace in the living room (handcrafted with stones from the river) and characteristic exposed beams throughout the cottage. The prestigious Langdale Hotel and Country Club, with exceptional facilities and fine restaurant is only five minutes stroll away; whilst a beautiful riverside walk, amidst a backdrop of high fells, will bring you to the handy local store. A truly romantic retreat in a sublime location. Note: The owners regret that the cottage is not suitable for babies or children under six.
