Burrow Cottage, Bowness
Arrival day: Saturday | Sleeps: 4
This romantic Lake District cottage is a dream inside and out. With a picture postcard whitewashed exterior, deep-silled cottage windows, roaring open fire and old oak beams, Burrow Cottage retains its traditional character and charm. But the owners have lovingly refurbished the cottage to the very last detail, to provide sophisticated self-catering accommodation for up to 4 people.
A babbling brook flows down past the cottage to Lake Windermere, which can be admired only a few hundred yards from the door. Adding to the ambience, a delightful furnished patio provides the perfect place to sip coffee in the sun. Bowness village is only a few miles away (just follow the lakeside road) and for a special treat visit one of our favourite Lake District country pubs, the Mason's Arms. It's only a short drive away at Bowland Bridge.
