Location
A holiday home in Bowness places you in the Lake District's most vibrant tourist destination, but thanks to Fairhaven's peaceful location you'll never tire of crowds. This contemporary Bowness cottage lies on the way out of the village, towards Windermere Golf Club and with renowned Lake District walks such as Brantfell beginning on the doorstep.
For a family holiday in the Lake District, or a fun-filled friendly gathering, Bowness is the ideal choice. On the shores of Lake Windermere the village bustles with activity, with family attractions in Bowness Bay, hire boats, Windermere Lake Cruises and a wealth of shops, Lake District restaurants and even trendy bars.

The village has the Royalty Cinema and Old Laundry Theatre for evening or rainy day entertainment, and also is home to the famous World of Beatrix Potter attraction. Lake District bus tours depart from the village, providing a great opportunity to explore if you'd prefer not to use the car during your stay.
For touring the wider Lake District, your Bowness accommodation is conveniently placed off the A591 -  the famously scenic road leading you south to Lakeside and Ulverston, or north to Windermere village, Troutbeck, Ambleside, Rydal Water and historic Grasmere.
