Overlooked by Loughrigg Fell, the pretty south-facing gardens run down to the banks of the River Brathay. You needn't leave the gardens to admire the views, but keen walkers will be spoilt by the choice of routes from the door of the cottage. Inside, you'll love the character of old oak beams and enjoy the creature comforts, such as the superb new bathroom suite. Perfect for an indulgent soak after a day on the fells! A romantic retreat for couples or a homely base for families, within easy reach of all the delights of Ambleside and Lake Windermere's shores.
The owners regret that due to direct access to the river, this property is not suitable for babies or children under 12 years old.

An entrance porch with traditional window seat, leads into the cosy but bright living / dining area with deep-cushioned sofas, feature gas fire and characterful old beams overhead. The recently-fitted kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances, also with access to the gardens. Upstairs to a pretty, floral double bedroom, further double bedroom and a newly-fitted bathroom suite with elegant standing bath and separate shower cubicle. Private parking for one car in the car park adjacent to the property.

Here on the banks of the River Brathay, you'll enjoy many of the benefits of a rural Lake District holiday cottage - walks from your door at the foot of Loughrigg Fell, extensive gardens and picturesque scenes. But Kiln Cottage is also within walking reach of Ambleside, making it an wonderful base for exploring this vibrant village and the shores of Lake Windermere.
Ambleside is located on the north shore of Lake Windermere, and is a vibrant Lakeland village providing everything you could need during a self-catering holiday in the Lake District. Contemporary shops for souvenirs, tempting delis such as Lucy's of Ambleside for stocking up the kitchen, an array of eateries and traditional pubs and even a cinema, pizzeria and jazz bar.
Ambleside and surrounding areas are a popular choice for a walking holiday in the Lake District, and the village is renowned as a hub for outdoor enthusiasts.
