Brantfield Cottage takes a handy location overlooking Bowness village and Lake Windermere's shore. The village centre is only a stroll away, where you'll find a lively high street, local shops, supermarket, cafes, Lakeland pubs and excellent restaurants. The Bowness Bay lake shore is just down the road, with plenty of opportunities to get out on the water - row boats, motor boats or sophisticated lake cruises. For family self-catering holidays, there are plenty of entertainments for a rainy day; the famous World of Beatrix Potter is in Bowness, and you'll also find a cinema and theatre.
For day trips throughout the Lake District, Bowness is also a top self-catering base. The A591 links you to the main route through the Lake District, with manageable drives to Ambleside, Grasmere, Coniston, the stunning Langdale Valley and more. That means it's also a great base for walking groups!
