Location
Between Windermere and Ambleside, the scenic and serene Troutbeck Valley is popular with walkers, photographers and those who love to simply admire the scenery!

There are many walks to enjoy in the area, ranging from a leisurely stroll around Brotherswater to an exciting trek on the Wansfell Ridge. Whatever you get up to, you'll be tempted by a meal or a pint of real Lakeland ale at the Mortal Man Inn or the Queen's Head in Troutbeck - two of the best country pubs in the Lake District.

Despite the air of seclusion, you only need travel a few miles to reach Windermere - with shops, Booths supermarket, cafes and restaurants on offer.
There are plenty of family attractions only a few miles further away in Bowness village, including the World of Beatrix Potter attraction, lake shore mini golf, cinema, the 'Old Laundry Theatre' and Windermere Golf Club.

Follow the A591 north and you'll reach Ambleside on the northern shores of Lake Windermere. This cosmopolitan village is great for shopping, offers several acclaimed Lake District restaurants such as The Glass House, and also offers Windermere Lake Cruises from Waterhead Pier. Continue on the A591 to Rydal Water and historic Grasmere. It couldn't be easier to explore!
