This rather luxurious Lake District cottage in Chapel Stile village is a walkers' paradise at the heart of the Langdales. Lakeland slate on the outside, lovely mountain and village scenes through almost every window, and a sympathetic refurbishment off-setting old oak beams with crisp decor and chic slate floors. Contemporary comforts spread over the three floors; sumptuous cottage bedrooms, sleek designer bathrooms and a top floor lounge with a newly installed woodburning stove and a sizeable, furnished, south-facing balcony. Active families will have no need to use their car, couples will relish the romantic location and cosy evenings by the woodburning stove and all will be glad of the short walk to the Good Pub Guide listed Wainwrights Inn

Location
This superb rural cottage in the Langdale Valley enjoys a picturesque setting in the village of Chapel Stile. Chapel Stile is located at the head of the valley, only 4 miles from Ambleside and Lake Windermere, and providing endless access to low and high level walks in the Langdale Valley. These are some of the most photographed landscapes in the Lake District, and you'll soon see why.

Chapel Stile village itself has a small shop, a cafe and an acclaimed Lake District country pub, The Wainwrights Inn. Stroll further into the Langdale Valley and you'll find the peaceful atmosphere and spectacular views continue... with a few more noteable pubs on the way.
This location is an obvious choice for a walking holiday in the Lake District; hike to England's highest tarn, or take on the spectacular Jake's Rake ridge as you tick off the famous Langdale Pikes; Harrison Stickle, Pike of Stickle and Loft Crag. The adjacent Wasdale and Borrowdale Valleys bring more superb routes within easy reach, and are traditional starting points for an ascent of Scafell Pike.

A holiday cottage in the Langdale Valley will have a blissfully remote feel, but those who wish to explore will find Ambleside, Coniston, Hawkshead, Grasmere and Windermere within easy reach.
