With blossoming garden and superb countryside views from every window, this traditional Lakeland cottage holiday home is tucked down a peaceful country lane, only a few miles from Bowness and Lake Windermere. The interior is as magical as the setting, with latch doors leading through stone flagged floored rooms, exposed beams and a woodburning stove. Birchmill Cottage is a haven for keen fell walkers, but is also ideal for family breaks. There are also several excellent gastropubs and three golf courses nearby. The community gathers around the excellent Sun Inn, soon to be your 'log fire local'. The 'Crook Road' B5284 runs between Kendal and Bowness, for ease of access to the shops, entertainments and attractions of both. There are plenty of opportunities for fell walking in the immediate area, if you are hoping to explore farther afield.

Well-tended garden with furniture for al-fresco dining. Entrance hall with flagged floor and oak beams. Spacious lounge with fabulous views, comfy sofas and a family-sized dining table. Additional snug with woodburning stove. Brand new kitchen/breakfast room for 2012, very well-equipped. Upstairs find the three generous bedrooms, with en-suite to the master bedroom. Separate large family bathroom.

Location
Birchmill Cottage is part of the scattered hamlet of Crook, only three miles from Bowness and Lake Windermere. The surrounding Lyth and Winster Valleys offer a real air of tranquility, far from the madding crowds and famously doused with damson blossom in spring. The community gathers around the excellent Sun Inn, soon to be your 'log fire local' and there are numerous famed gastropubs in this picturesque area.
The 'Crook Road' B5284 runs between Kendal and Bowness, for ease of access to the shops, entertainments and attractions of both. Walks abound in the immediate area, but your holiday cottage is only a few miles from main routes through the Lake District.
