Lakefield House is surrounded by scenes featured in the stories of Beatrix Potter, being only a few minutes from  the her former home in Near Sawrey. The lake itself (fictional home of 'Jeremy Fisher') is one of the finest trout lakes in England, and walks in every direction in the surrounding area will leave you spellbound. Back at the house, the impressive living space is superb for family gatherings, and spread out to suit one or two families - ground floor king, double and twin bedrooms are en-suite with TVs, and the top floor bedrooms benefit from a cosy TV/gaming room and basic kitchen. Perfect for early risers!

The dining area leads out to the raised furnished deck area. Well-equipped kitchen with utility and access to rear garden. Ground floor hallway with games cupboard, luxury en-suite king-size bedroom with four-poster and LCD TV, luxury en-suite twin bedroom with LCD TV and en-suite double bedroom with LCD. Upstairs to the 2nd king-size double and twin, luxury bathroom, TV/gaming room with LCD TV/DVD/ Playstation 2 and small kitchen. Table tennis is availabe in the garage.

Location
This large holiday home in Near Sawrey is perfectly placed for a varied Lake District holiday, with walks surrounding, interesting villages nearby, and a wealth of Lake District family attractions within easy reach.
Beatrix Potter once lived in Near Sawrey, and her former home is open to the public at Hill Top. The Tower Bank Arms featured in her stories, and is a wonderful place for a family meal with a traditional Lakeland pub atmosphere. Near Sawrey is only a mile away from Hawkshead, where a charming car-free village centre provides everything you need to stock up the kitchen.

Near Sawrey is a great base for walking in the Lake District. Stroll close-by to beautiful Moss Eccles Tarn (Beatrix Potter's favourite), wander around Tarn Hows near Hawkshead, explore cycle tracks and sculpture trails in the Grizedale Forest, or venture to famous routes in areas such as the Langdale Valley and Coniston - both within easy reach.
Bowness can be reached easily via the car-ferry over Lake Windermere, only a few miles from your door. Bowness is a bustling Lake District holiday destination, with contemporary shops and wide range of entertainment. Hire a boat in Bowness Bay, or take a steamer cruise on Lake Windermere to Ambleside or Lakeside. Windermere Golf Club is also just outside Bowness village.
