The Cragg, Hawkshead
Arrival day: Saturday | Sleeps: 9
Only a mile from Hawkshead village, this traditional Westmorland farmhouse provides a truly memorable rural Lake District retreat - with an acre of private gardens to enjoy. The property dates back to 1695, and was once owned by the well-known Satterthwaite family. Fascinating original features remain alongside a tasteful and stylish refurbishment. Rich old oak panels, ancient spice cupboards, flagged floors and picture-frame windows... all finished off with soothing colours, subtle lighting and contemporary creature comforts. You'll enjoy many a cosy evening warmed by the woodburning stove, or dining together in the stunning farmhouse kitchen (with Aga of course). An extra lounge opens out to the garden; a haven on sunny days.
