Explore the Lakes, stroll to the lake shore and later, swap stories of your adventures around a stylish contemporary glass dining table - or perhaps sample one of the restaurants within strolling distance?

Enter to the luxurious open plan lounge / dining room, which is divided by a breakfast bar from the William Ball kitchen, equipped with dishwasher, electric oven and halogen hob. In the living room inviting leather sofas stretch out in front of the TV/DVD and doors lead to patio - ideal for summer drinks. Upstairs to the two bedrooms (1 kingsize, 1 double), tastefully furnished with plenty of cupboard space. Light, airy bathroom with walk in shower.

Location
A self-catering cottage in Windermere will give you a real taste of the Lakeland lifestyle, with plenty of facilities and attractions on your doorstep. The village is less than 30 minutes from the M6 and also well served by a train station in the centre of the village. The village, found just off the famously scenic A591 - the main route into the heart of the Lakes, is only a couple of miles up the road from Bowness Bay and the shores of Lake Windermere.

Windermere village is well equipped if you want to eat in or out. You'll be able to stock up on quality fresh produce at the high class Booths supermarket. The headquarters of Lakeland Ltd is a mecca for cooks and the high street offers a wide range of smaller local shops. There are several traditional pubs in Windermere, serving good Lakeland ale and hearty pub meals. You'll find tasty cafes for long, lazy breakfasts and excellent Lake District restaurants such as Jerichos.
The A591 provides easy access to many of the Lake District's most famous walking spots, but there are also a few lovely strolls to enjoy around Windermere village. A short walk up Orrest Head affords fabulous views to Lake Windermere and is a must during your stay.

The nearby village of Staveley is the starting point for stunning walking and mountain biking in the Kentmere Valley. A short trip from Windermere are Coniston and the Langdale Valley, where you can begin some of the most spectacular walks in the country.
