If searching for peace and quiet in a romantic hideaway with fabulous views then here you have found a special retreat within a quintessential English country estate comprising 37 acres of formal and natural gardens and woodland, complete with an acre of private lake frontage and your very own rowing boats.
This first floor apartment forms part of a magnificent original Gentlemen's residence, built at the turn of the last century and designed in the arts & crafts style. The breathtaking views over Esthwaite Water towards the surrounding mountains have to be seen to be fully appreciated, yet here you can really soak them up. To say the grounds are wonderful is an understatement; you find many vantage points within the vast acreage where hidden pathways lead to more and more magic. Nearby Hawkshead is teeming with life, having cobbled streets, excellent eating out spots and country pubs, and the village store is open 'till 8pm: whilst Near Sawrey boasts The Tower Bank Arms, once owned by Beatrix Potter and featured in her books, serving delicious food and real ales. This picturesque escape is exactly that and makes for a perfect holiday at any time of the year.
