Location
Lake Windermere is England's largest lake, set against a stunning backdrop of Lakeland Fells. Although there is currently a 10mph speed limit on the lake, Windermere is without doubt the boating community of the Lake District.

Bowness village stands on the eastern shores of the lake, and is a popular Lake District holiday destination. It's also the the hub for boating enthusiasts, with expert shops on hand. You'll find a contemporary shopping street with everything you could need during your stay; supermarkets to characterful local shops, traditional Lakeland pubs to stylish restaurants and bars.

There are a number of family attractions in Bowness, including the World of Beatrix Potter attraction, mini golf and tennis. Windermere Golf Club is located just outside the village, on the way into the lush Lyth Valley.
