Pasture View Coachouse 1, Ambleside

Arrival day: Saturday | Sleeps: 4

This traditional coach house marks the entrance to Lake Windermere's breathtaking Pullwood Bay Estate. Set by the Ambleside to Hawkshead road, Pasture View is just a ten minute walk through the grounds of the estate to the lake shore. The prestigious estate offers 50 acres of scenic grounds and over half a mile of estate-owned lake shore - the lake views from the grounds are envied throughout the region! The coach house retains some lovely original features including exposed stone walls and old oak beams. The accommodation serves as a cosy retreat for couples, or a great base for a family holiday. Walks abound in the surrounding area, as well as within the grounds of the estate, and only a short stroll away is one of the Lake District's most famous pub restaurants - the Drunken Duck.

Location

Pullwood Bay sits on the edge of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake,  surrounded by wonderful walking territory and only two miles from the vibrant village of Ambleside.
In Ambleside village centre you'll find sophisticated shopping and an absolute haven for foodies; tempting bakeries and cafes, local speciality shops and also handy supermarket-style stores.
Windermere Lake Cruises depart just outside Ambleside village centre at Waterhead Pier, so as well as admiring the lake from the grounds of your lake shore self-catering property, you can take to the water too!

Ambleside has a wide range of options for evening entertainment. As well as numerous places to drink and eat, you'll find two high quality cinemas for family entertainment. A wide range of pubs and restaurants are in the village centre, but in the surrounding countryside there are also some excellent Lake District country pubs to explore - such as the Drunken Duck at Outgate.
Pullwood Bay is a great place to start if you're planning to explore the whole Lake District. Its location is right at the heart of the Lakes. Hawkshead and the home of Beatrix Potter are very close by, as are such scenic areas as the Langdale Valley and Coniston.
