VisitEngland 4 star rated property

Part of a magnificent period property, Tarn House sits above the picturesque Skelwith Village in the Langdale Valley. Chester's Cafe and the Skelwith Bridge Hotel's Talbot Bar are only a short stroll away. Inside you'll find a true taste of traditional Lakeland grandeur; high ceilings, polished floorboards, Victorian tiling and Inglenook fireplace blend beautifully with rich fabrics and lavish furnishings. Visitors have described the interior design as thoughtful and creative, the setting as magical and the location as "amazing".

Location
A Skelwith Bridge holiday home takes you away from the hustle and bustle of tourist traps, but places you in an ideal location for exploring the highlights. Skelwith Bridge is a small hamlet in the heart of the Langdale Valley, within easy reach of shops, Windermere Lake Cruises and restaurants in Ambleside, but surrounded by sublime countryside scenes.

Many famous Lake District walks begin in and around Skelwith Bridge; choose from challenging routes on the Langdale Pikes, Loughrigg and the tarn, or peaceful strolls on the shores of Elterwater to name but a few. Nearby Ambleside is a great place to stop off for hiking advice, with a tourist information centre and many expert outdoor stores.

Your location just off the A593 makes exploring the wider reaches of the National Park a breeze. For example; follow the road back to Ambleside and the shores of Lake Windermere, then north to Rydal Water and Grasmere, or follow the A593 south to picturesque Coniston.
