VisitEngland 4 star rated property

This sophisticated rural bungalow is breathtaking inside and out, with far-reaching views over the lush Lyth Valley through enormous windows, elegant living space for your sociable gathering. Highbeck stands alongside a single other cottage within 3 acres of gardens and grounds, a stroll from the village of Crosthwaite and the award-winning Punchbowl Inn. The property is beautifully presented; retaining the charm of old oak beams, fireplace and chic country kitchen, but completing the luxurious picture with sleek polished floors, luxurious leather furnishings and crisp hotel-style bedrooms. This could be a wonderful retreat for two couples, or an unforgettable escape for family being only a short drive from the attractions and entertainment of Bowness and Lake Windermere.

Accommodation in detail
A sweeping gravel driveway leads to the property. Enter via a quarry tiled porch and elegant entrance hall, leading to the stunning lounge with a wall of glass providing the views. The room is beautifully furnished around the easy gas fire, and leads to a 'snug' with patio doors to the sun terrace. The reception kitchen / dining room is perfect for sociable gatherings, with ample dining space, and separate pantry. Both bedrooms are scenic, spacious and comfortably furnished. Two luxury shower rooms and separate WC. Accommodation is on the ground floor and the first floor is private and never used whilst the property is occupied by guests.

This sophisticated rural Lake District holiday home lies only a stroll from the small village of Crosthwaite, in the north of the Lyth Valley and only a short drive from Bowness and Lake Windermere.
The Lyth Valley lies to the east of Lake Windermere, riddled with picturesque walking and cycling routes and renowned as a peaceful landscape compared to busier Lake District holiday destinations such as Bowness and Ambleside. But you'll never be too far from Lake Windermere, shops and restaurants in Bowness and the main driven route into the heart of the Lakes.

The Lyth Valley is also renowned for its scattering of high-class country pub restaurants, one of which stands only a stroll away from Highbeck. The Punchbowl Inn has long been regarded as one of the finest Lake District gastropubs, well worth a visit and nestling alongside a pretty old church.
If you choose self-catering accommodation in the Lyth Valley during spring, you'll witness something else this valley is famous for; renowned for their annual harvest of damsons, orchards throughout the valley give rise to stunning damson blossom in spring.
The old market town of Kendal is also easily accessible from Crosthwaite, with a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants as well as entertainment for all ages at the Brewery Arts Centre.
