This outstanding detached Lake District residence stands in pride of place; mid-way between Windermere and Ambleside at the gateway to the Troutbeck Valley. Drive up your private driveway to arrive at a traditional Lakeland lodge house, luxuriously refurbished but wearing its elegant Victorian features well. You'll find fabulous space for entertaining, a veritable 'home cinema' in the lounge, and sophisticated dining facilities extending to a large furnished patio area. Only a stroll away is Troutbeck Bridge, the Sun Inn and a well-stocked shop. The Brockhole National Park Visitor Centre can be reached on foot, providing access to Lake Windermere's shore. The owners regret that this property does not accept children under 5 years old.

Private driveway with parking for 3 cars outside the property. Enter via the impressive entrance hall, with Victorian radiators and traditional window seat. Cosy but bright living room with a large leaded bay window. Sophisticated dining room with stereo system and French doors to the large garden. The separate kitchen has a breakfast bar and access to the furnished patio area. Ground floor power shower room. Upstairs to the spacious bedrooms: Master double bedroom with brushed metal bed, and luxurious en-suite bathroom with polished steel roll top bath. Double bedroom with elegant iron bed, and twin bedroom with sleigh single beds.

Location
This large holiday home near Lake Windermere provides a fantastic base for exploring and touring the Lake District, being ideally placed off the Ambleside Road between Windermere village and Ambleside. The A591 is the main, easily navigable route into the heart of the Lakes, leading from Windermere on to Ambleside, Rydal Water, historic Grasmere, then branching off to scenic areas such as the Langdale Valley and Coniston.
Close by, you'll find a handy shop at Troutbeck Bridge and more amenities in Windermere village, including the superb Booths supermarket - perfect for stocking up the kitchen with the highest quality Lakeland produce. You'll find renowned Lake District family attractions just a few miles away in Bowness village, on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere. Having a sophisticated shopping street and a wide range of restaurants, pubs and bars, Bowness is also popular for its range of boating activities. Hire boats come and go in Bowness Bay and Windermere Lake Cruises provide a scenic route to Ambleside or Lakeside. Windermere Golf Club is located just outside Bowness village.
Even closer to the property you'll find the Lake District National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole. With fabulous gardens leading down to the lake and a range of events for all ages, Brockhole is a must during your stay.

From your property at the foot of the Troutbeck Valley, you're ideally placed to take a scenic drive over the dramatic Kirkstone Pass, stopping for lunch at the Queen's Head, then continuing on to explore Ullswater.
