Location
Staveley is a small Lake District village at the head of the scenic Kentmere Valley, just off the A591 between Kendal and Windermere. Access from the M6 is quick and easy, and the rest of the Lakes is also within easy reach. Although small, Staveley is bustling with activity all year round. The Staveley Mill Yard is home to several interesting local businesses, including the award-winning More? artisan bakery, the award-winning Hawkshead Brewery and beer hall, and an excellent cafe called Wilf's.
Staveley is also home to the Eagle & Child, one of the area's most popular country pubs serving local ale and high quality food - great for a special occasion. From Staveley you might like to explore the market town of Kendal, just a few miles away. You'll find a wide range of shops, market square and great evening entertainment at the Brewery Arts Centre. To your north, the Lake District awaits and you only need travel a few miles on the A591 to reach Lake Windermere. The A591 continues into the heart of the Lakes, making a holiday cottage in Staveley a surprisingly convenient base for touring!
