Location
This luxury Lake District holiday home, close to Ambleside village, overlooks the northern shores of Lake Windermere, England's largest lake. The property backs onto Wansfell, a popular Lake District walking route offering spectacular scenery.
Ambleside village is the Lake District's most sophisticated community, attractive with its historic buildings and traditional Lakeland cottages, but well-served with contemporary shops and highly acclaimed eateries. You'll find high class restaurants such as The Glass House in the village centre, and excellent Lake District country pubs in the surrounding area. Don't miss a drive out to the Drunken Duck Inn & Restaurant at Outgate, for a special treat.
At Waterhead Pier, Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Bowness and Lakeside - carrying passengers the full length of the lake. These elegant steamers are a great way to explore without a car, taking in the scenery en-route. There are also a couple of good lake shore pubs at Waterhead, just a stroll from One Wansfell Holme.
