Priory Manor, Windermere
Arrival day: Saturday | Sleeps: 6
An intriguing Grade II listed character property and original priory, where ancient England meets luxurious and sometimes funky contemporary style. The views over Lake Windermere, from throughout the property, are outstanding. Take a wander through the magical grounds and gardens (with terraces and garden furniture) to the lake shore, where you're free to launch your canoes, windsurfers or small boats (note that no launching or overnight mooring is possible on the private jetty). Priory Manor is a great option for two couples, with 2 en-suite king-size bedrooms. Extra guests can be accommodated on single beds in each of the upper floor day rooms. And although a laptop will look out of place in the 18th century office, there's free WiFi for those who need it.
