Clappersgate is a much sought-after hamlet at the head of Lake Windermere, just west of Ambleside village. This is a wonderful location that gives you the freedom to enjoy both bustling village life and blissful tranquility!
Top O' Th Town is only about a ten minute stroll from the centre of Ambleside village; a historic Lakeland village, full of character and beautifully located with access to the shores of Lake Windermere at Waterhead Pier. Though bustling, Ambleside has a real charm and has grown to become the Lake District's most cosmopolitan village community. You'll find sophisticated shopping, tempting cafes, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and even two high quality cinema venues to entertain. Wander to the Tourist Information office and you'll soon discover just how much there is to do and see nearby.
