Overlooking idyllic Esthwaite Water, this enchanting romantic hideaway is found in the sleepy hamlet of Near Sawrey, once home to Beatrix Potter and surrounded by landscapes featured in her stories. Little Esthwaite Cottage is perfectly presented for couples, all on one level, and an ideal place to escape the rush at any time of year without straying too far from civilisation! Take gentle walks in any direction, cosy-up by the woodburning stove, sip your drinks outside to enjoy the view, and rest-up well in an atmosphere of peace, quiet and tranquility. Still only a couple of miles from Hawkshead village, Near Sawrey has an excellent country pub 'The Tower Bank Arms', complete with traditional flagged floors and a roaring fire, and only a stroll away. Bliss!

Private parking for 1 car. Entrance hall into the neat little kitchen / dining room, well-equipped, set up for romantic dining and promising a lovely outlook while you eat. The relaxing lounge has a woodburning stove, and scenic glass doors opening out to the decked and furnished patio. A pretty double bedroom with traditional cottage windows, and soothing shower room, are all on the same level.

Location
Near Sawrey is a small hamlet located between Hawkshead village, Esthwaite Water and the western shores of Lake Windermere. Taking a sublime setting in lush countryside dotted with pretty tarns and laced with lovely walks, the village is still within easy reach of Hawkshead, Ambleside and the car-ferry crossing over Lake Windermere to bustling Bowness.
Near Sawrey is known worldwide for its connections with Beatrix Potter, who lived at Hill Top - now owned by the National Trust and open to the public. Hill Top is located just behind the Tower Bank Arms country pub, which featured in Beatrix Potter's 'Tales of Jemima Puddleduck'. What a local!
If you'd like to visit somewhere more lively during your Lake District holiday, travel just a short distance to the western shore of Lake Windermere, where a car-ferry crosses the lake to Bowness village. You'll find contemporary shops, cosy traditional pubs, lake cruises on Lake Windermere and excellent restaurants in Bowness and the surrounding area. Windermere Golf Club is also just a short distance outside Bowness village centre. Esthwaite Water is known as one of England's finest trout fishing lakes, also offering pike fishing, coarse fishing and roach fishing for all ages at Esthwaite Water Trout Fishery.
