This Windermere lake shore luxury lodge stands on the peaceful north west shores of Lake Windermere, only 2 miles from Ambleside and within easy reach of Hawkshead, the Langdale Valley and Grasmere. If you're keen on walking in the Lake District, you'll be spoilt for choice - from the gentle circuit of Tarn Hows, to the challenging routes on the Langdale Pikes.

For a special evening out, venture only a mile to the acclaimed Drunken Duck Inn and Restaurant - locally regarded as one of the finest Lake District gastropubs. In nearby Ambleside, you'll find even more choice; from cosy traditional Lakeland pubs to sophisticated restaurants such as The Glass House, in a spectacular converted saw mill. Ambleside also has two interesting cinemas; Zeffirellis Cinema, Pizzeria and Jazz Bar, and Fellinis - a vegetarian restaurant and cinema combined.

By day, Ambleside is ideal for shopping and stocking up the kitchen while nearby Hawkshead is a delight to explore. Ambleside boasts contemporary boutiques, quaint local shops and tempting delicatessens while Hawkshead is the magical home of the children's author Beatrix Potter.

Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly from Waterhead Pier in Ambleside. For a wonderful day out, walk from the Pullwood Bay estate to Ambleside village and then take a 'steamer' cruise to Bowness or Lakeside and back. Just one of the many fabulous days out to be had in the area!
