Enter into the lounge, with deep-cushioned furnishings and a traditional stone fireplace. The kitchen / dining room is fresh and modern, well-equipped and provides ample dining space for meals at home. A stable door leads to the garden, with patio and garden furniture. Upstairs to the gorgeous master double bedroom with en-suite shower room. The house bathroom is also on the first floor. Location
This delightful Lake District cottage stands only a few miles from Windermere and Bowness but well away from the crowds. The hamlet of Ings stands between Kendal, Staveley and Windermere, nestled around the scenic A591 which is your main route from the M6 into the heart of the Lakes.
Despite the out-of-town location, you're never too far from useful shops, a Booths supermarket, cafes, traditional Lakeland pubs and restaurants in Windermere village. The shores of Lake Windermere are only a couple of miles further. You'll also be lucky enough to find one of the Lake District's best-loved dog-friendly pubs on your doorstep - The Watermill Inn and Brewery.
The village of Staveley neighbours Ings, within walking distance, and is a lovely place to explore. Staveley has a delightful and often-missed church, a vibrant community of businesses and cafes in the Staveley Mill Yard, and creates a popular starting point for cycling and walking in the Kentmere Valley. The famous Hawkshead Brewery resides within Staveley Mill Yard, along with quirky Lakeland craft shops, art galleries and an excellent walkers' cafe.
For exploring the wider Lake District, you couldn't start in a better place. The A591 leads straight to Windermere and Bowness, to Ambleside and then routes continue to Grasmere, the Langdale Valley, Coniston and beyond. Don't forget to drive over Kirkstone Pass from Windermere, to enjoy spectacular scenery on your way to visit Ullswater. You'll reach the shops, cafes and restaurants in village and which is the main route into the Lakes from the M6 junction at Kendal.
