Location
This stunning rural Lake District holiday cottage nestles in sublime surroundings only a short distance from the peaceful southern shores of Lake Windermere, and the small village of Newby Bridge.
With glorious walks all around, lake shore picnics at Fell Foot Park and Grizedale Forest nearby with its walking paths, cycle tracks and enchanting sculpture trails, you'll find plenty to explore without travelling too far. The English Heritage owned Stott Bobbin Mill at Finsthwaite is within easy reach and well worth a visit.
From nearby Lakeside Pier, Windermere Lake Cruises depart to both Bowness and Ambleside; a great way to visit these popular Lake District holiday destinations via a wonderfully scenic route! Seasonal ferries also cross the lake from Lakeside Pier to Fell Foot Park. You'll also find a couple of renowned Lake District family attractions at Lakeside. Lakes Aquarium displays interesting wildlife found in and around the lake, and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway offers journeys by traditional steam train to Haverthwaite, along the old Furness line.
Bowness village is easily reachable by driving up the eastern shore of Lake Windermere. There you'll find the Windermere Golf Club, sophisticated shops, a wide choice of restaurants, bars and cinema. Not to mention the boating activities of Bowness Bay and the famous World of Beatrix Potter attraction!
From your holiday home at Lakeside, you could also enjoy a trip to the coast, with Arnside and Morecambe Bay only about 50 picturesque minutes to your south.
