A private driveway leads to the courtyard with parking and garage. The garden lies to the front and side of the cottage. A traditional open porch leads into the open plan dining room / kitchen, spacious and well-equipped with views to the lake. The lounge is also bright and spacious, with sumptuous furnishings and views to the Lakeland mountains. Upstairs to the 2 pretty king-size bedrooms (one with zip-link for use as a twin room), the shower room, and the master king-size bedroom with en-suite bathroom. All bedrooms overlook the lake.

This delightful holiday cottage in Near Sawrey lies at the heart of the Lakes between Windermere and Esthwaite water, and only a short distance from Hawkshead village. Promising spellbinding scenery, the area is known as Beatrix Potter Country for its historic connections with the famous author. Walks begin in every direction, and Lake District family attractions nearby include Beatrix Potter's former home at Hill Top, and the fabulous Grizedale Forest with its sculpture trails, walks and mountain biking tracks.
Close-by Hawkshead village provides a quaint Lakeland experience all of its own, with its car-free village centre, charming local shops and a distinct air of history. Hawkshead village is your stop-off for facilities and shopping, and you can stock up the kitchen with Lake District produce at the Honeypot delicatessen. Drive a little further and you'll reach more sophisticated shops, lake shore pubs and acclaimed Lake District restaurants in Ambleside - on the northern shores of Lake Windermere.
And if you'd like to visit bustling Bowness on the other side of Lake Windermere, you only need drive a few miles to the car ferry crossing. Once in Bowness Bay you'll find Windermere Lake Cruises, the World of Beatrix Potter attraction and plenty of restaurants and lively bars.
