This Windermere lake shore lodge is one of only nine, nestled in the tranquil wooded grounds of the prestigious Storrs Hall Hotel. Bring your boat or rent one nearby, as you'll have free lake access and use of the hotel jetty. Inside, the lodge is a perfectly formed retreat for family, two couples or friends. Gaze out through pretty woodland to the lake, dine in together with ease and enjoy the rare peace and quiet of this spellbinding location. The grounds of Storrs Hall are quite magical, stroll to enjoy the lakeshore but don't forget to admire the magnificent Grade II listed mansion that is the hotel itself.

Location
Storrs Hall Hotel is located just a 5 minutes drive from Bowness village, on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere. Bowness is your stop-off for stocking up the kitchen, and you'll find supermarkets, sophisticated shops and a wide range of eateries to choose from.

If you don't bring your own boats or canoes, you can take to Lake Windermere in Bowness Bay. The Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside - a great way to explore without driving too far. There are also many family attractions in Bowness - from lake shore mini-golf to the Royalty Cinema, Old Laundry Theatre and also the highly-acclaimed 'World of Beatrix Potter' attraction.

If you'd like to explore Hawkshead or visit the former home of Beatrix Potter, the world famous children's author, you can take a car-ferry across Lake Windermere from Bowness.
