With breath-taking views over Lake Windermere, picturesque sections of this lakeside village, this aptly named Lakeland treat offers a stylish and contemporary stay in the Lake District for one or two couples travelling together. Located in a quiet backwater of the village, within a conservation area, this Gothic style cottage was one a Victorian school house, now beautifully modernised, yet retains the traditional charm.

park privately behind the cottage; entrance hall, this is an upside down cottage to take advantage of those views and on the ground floor are two chic king size bedrooms and the luxurious shower room. Upstairs to admire the view and relax in contemporary luxury with sumptuous leather furnishings set on the oak floor, this living area is open plan to the kitchen / dining area and the kitchen has all you may need. There is a seat bench outside the cottage to sit and watch the world go by from.

A holiday cottage in Bowness is a great choice for a varied Lake District holiday, and there's plenty for couples to enjoy during a romantic break or Lake District honeymoon. Bowness village is found on the eastern shores of Lake Windermere. The lively village centre is packed with tempting eateries, traditional Lakeland pubs and a selection of sophisticated shops - from handy Tesco supermarket to clothing boutiques.
Stroll to the lake shore at Bowness Bay, and you can rent an old-fashioned row boat, a modern powered boat or take a romantic cruise on one of the famous Lake Windermere 'steamers'. These elegant passenger boats depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside - a great way to explore the full length of the lake without having to drive at all. A car ferry crosses Lake Windermere from Bowness, taking you towards Hawkshead and the homeland of the famous children's author Beatrix Potter. Visit her home at Hill Top in Near Sawrey, and treat yourselves to a romantic meal at one of the fabulous country pubs in the area.
Windermere Golf Club is found just outside Bowness village, on the way to the scenic Lyth Valley. Even if you're not a golfer, this area is well worth exploring as it is home to some of the finest country pubs in the Lake District - such as the Mason's Arms at Strawberry Bank or the Wild Boar Inn on the Crook road.
