Arrive at this superb detached Lakeland residence and you'll know you've found something special. Just outside Ambleside, Crop Howe commands simply breathtaking views to the famous Langdale Pikes.
The sheer quality within this luxurious property combined with this sublime setting makes it a first choice every time and with so may repeat 'lakelovers' we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment. The sleepy hamlet of Skelwith Fold is surrounded by gorgeous countryside as far as the eye can see and the famous Drunken Duck Inn is only a 20 minute walk. Back at the house, the living space is extensive, ideal for sociable occasions with wonderful views from most rooms.

A large heated porch with drying area leads you into Crop Howe; a hallway leads into the sitting room with spectacular picture window, reclining settees and access to the terrace and balcony via a patio door. The very well equipped kitchen has granite worksurfaces, with access to the large dining room, in turn, has large patio doors leading onto the decked area, a place to truly experience al-fresco living. On this level are both twin bedrooms and a king-size bedroom and two bathroom facilities. A staircase leads to the master king-size bedroom with that amazing view and a wonderful, private seating area to enjoy it. The en-suite with Jacuzzi bath is ideal for soothing the walking aches of the day. The external games room is a wonderful added feature of this property as are the gardens and don't forget that view...
Location
With all the charms of a large rural Lake District holiday home, this fabulous property is perfect for a walking holiday with so many routes to explore from the door. But it's also only a short drive away from vibrant Ambleside village and all the attractions of Lake Windermere. Close by, Ambleside is well-stocked with contemporary shops, renowned Lake District restaurants and traditional Lakeland pubs. Stroll from the village centre to Waterhead Pier, and you'll find Windermere Lake 'steamers' provide your scenic route to Bowness and Lakeside.
To your West, explore the breathtaking Langdale Valley, renowned for its unspoilt landscapes. Wander down to the valley bottom to admire more views or take on the famous Langdale Pikes, but remember you can't beat the views from Crop Howe. There are several excellent country pubs in the valley to complete your day, with the Skelwith Bridge Hotel being the nearest and The Drunken Duck being a 20 minute walk away. Ambleside is a great place to start if you plan to explore the wider Lake District. To your south is picturesque Hawkshead, famously home to the author Beatrix Potter whose home can be visited at Hill Top. Historic Grasmere is only a 10-minute drive away - a world-famous location for its connections with William Wordsworth.
