Location
Between Ambleside and Windermere, this holiday home in Troutbeck Valley is set amidst spectacular Lakeland Fells at the start of the dramatic Kirkstone Pass road. Although popular for its unique rural landscapes, Troutbeck village is free of busy car parks, tourist centres and hectic shops.
Despite this air of escape, it's only a few minutes' drive to facilities and restaurants in Windermere, the shores of Lake Windermere itself and the main road route to visit Ambleside, Rydal Water, Grasmere and beyond. A perfect Lake District self-catering base where you can escape the hustle and bustle, discover a wealth of unforgettable walks on your doorstep, and keep rainy day activities within easy reach (including two excellent Lakeland gastro pubs, the Queen's Head and the Mortal Man!).
Limefitt Lodge is within the peaceful Limefitt Park which is Visit England 5 Star Rated and has a David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation
Limefitt Park is situated just 3 miles from both Ambleside and Windermere, but being hidden away in the tranquil Troutbeck Valley it provides a uniquely peaceful environment set in some of the Lake District's most spectacular scenery.
In spite of the peaceful setting, Limefitt Park is ideally placed for easy access to the major Lake District visitor attractions like the Windermere and Ullswater Steamers and the Beatrix Potter attractions.
Because of its location Limefitt is also a great base for walking and mountain biking, or you could try your hand at fishing, pony trekking, mountain biking or any of a host of other activities that are readily available in the South Lakes.
Facilities at Limefitt include a reception area, a well stocked shop, the Haybarn on-site pub, a kids play area with zip wire, a games field, a dog field and the ever popular river pool.
