Accommodation in detail
Private parking for 2 cars, it's hard to believe how close you are to this village when you arrive. Entrance into the top level of the property with hallway and cloakroom 2nd WC / wash basin. The living room enjoys that stunning lake view and this is a room to relax in, sink into the leather furnishings on the oak flooring by the woodburning stove. The kitchen / dining room is well stocked also with lake view and from here a staircase leads you down to the three bedrooms and bathroom. 2 double bedrooms and a bunk bedded room, the bathroom has bath and separate shower cubicle. From this level there is access to the enclosed garden.

Location
On the eastern shores of Lake Windermere, Bowness is a sophisticated Lakeland village with a wealth to explore and enjoy. Stroll to the lake shore to hire a rowing boat or power boat, or take an elegant cruise on one of the Lake Windermere steamers. Windermere Lake Cruises depart regularly to Ambleside and Lakeside; a wonderful way to explore without even using your car.
There are several excellent restaurants in Bowness village, within walking distance of The Lookout Lodge. The Postillion Restaurant is a long-standing favourite for stylish dining, while Lucy4 at the Porthole and Bodegas & Sol puts a contemporary twist on the tapas style. There are also plenty of traditional Lakeland pubs, both in the village centre and the surrounding countryside. Windermere Golf Club is just outside Bowness village, on the way to the Lyth Valley. This area is also renowned for gentle but very scenic walking, with a wealth of acclaimed Lake District country pubs to choose from at the end of the day.
Close to the village, you'll find Blackwell, The Arts and Crafts House. This impressive property takes a stunning position overlooking Lake Windermere, and has a range of interesting exhibitions.
Join the A591 to Ambleside and Grasmere, and you can explore the homes of famous Lake District poet, William Wordsworth.
Another great idea is to take the car-ferry crossing over Lake Windermere from Bowness, to visit the former home of Beatrix Potter in Near Sawrey, and the picturesque village of Hawkshead.
