Sunset Cottage is an attractive traditional Lakeland stone cottage nestled in a peaceful backwater of Ambleside, yet just two or three minutes level stroll from the centre of the village. It is extremely handy for the shops, restaurants and attractions which make Ambleside an all year round Lake District destination.
Tastefully furnished and full of character, Sunset Cottage is warm and cosy in the winter months, with a beautiful garden complete with views of the fells that is ideal for meals 'al fresco' on long summer days. The cottage is particularly well equipped to be your 'home from home' during your stay in the Lakes. Walkers and cyclists will value the special facilities provided that have enabled Sunset Cottage to be one of the first to gain the new VisitBritain Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome accreditations. And the many families that visit every year value the family-friendly location and special features the owners provide such as free cot, stair gate and high chair.
The accommodation comprises - entrance from a courtyard into the well equipped fitted kitchen, complete with underfloor heating. The lounge / dining room is attractively decorated with original slate fireplace incorporating a warming gas woodburning stove, comfortable soft furnishings and offers access out into the garden. A neat utility room is also found downstairs with room for walking clobber etc. Upstairs to the co-ordinated double bedroom with fell views towards Loughrigg. Recently refurbished cottage bathroom with bath and shower. Upstairs again to an open twin bedroom with even better views.
Outside there is a lovely enclosed garden complete with patio furniture. Reserved parking in the shared courtyard directly in front of the cottage, together with an additional resident's parking permit allowing on-street parking. Lockable cycle store in the courtyard suitable for several bikes.
