Stunningly situated, cosy and welcoming, this picturesque cottage was once part of the Elterwater Gunpowder Works and is right in the centre of this tranquil hamlet. Elterwater is the perfect base to explore the Langdale valley, with many walks and local bus from the doorstep. Bridge Syke Cottage is idyllically situated and retains a wealth of character and charm. One hundred yards across the green, are the village store and the famous Britannia Inn, serving good food and local ales, the ideal retreat after a hard day on the fells. The cottage boasts membership of the prestigious Langdale Hotel and Country Club, with its numerous leisure facilities and fine restaurant only a five-minute stroll away.
Whether you wish to walk the fells, or escape from the madding crowds for a romantic retreat, Bridge Syke is the perfect choice. Many choose never to use their car once safely parked on arrival, but others may wish to take a short drive into the village of Ambleside only four miles away, which offers shops, cinema and a wide selection of pubs and restaurants.
