Appropriately named, Lakeside Lodge is a short stroll from the lake, where Windermere Lake Cruises lay on steamers regularly coming and going to other Lakeland destinations including Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere. Much thought and attention to detail has been given to make this lodge house a sophisticated holiday home to remember, which you will long to return to. The hamlet of Lakeside has some great places to eat and drink to tempt you out, as well as the many lakeside activities. Lakeside Lodge is close to Grizedale Forest where walking and mountain biking are simply fantastic.
The accommodation comprises; a spacious Victorian entrance hall is an impressive entry to this period home with the beginning of a plethora of stripped antique pine and Victorian tiles. The magnificent main reception room enjoys a flood of light through substantial picture windows and this room has sumptuous sofas and a beautiful dining suite. The 2nd lounge/reading room is a place to escape with a good book and enjoy the open fire. The large kitchen displays bespoke oak units with walnut surfaces and provides everything you may need including a useful laundry room and curved bay overlooking the patio. There is a modern bathroom on the ground floor and a staircase leads to the first floor where there are three individually themed superb bedrooms and a 2nd bathroom facility. The king-size bedroom features an exquisite mahogany sleigh bed with matching suite; the double room has an iron bedstead and lovely views of Gummers How and the lavender twin bedroom is delightful looking out towards the forest.
