Once owned by Beatrix Potter, this wonderful Lakeland cottage resides within a row of similar cottages at the head of a narrow lane in complete seclusion, 'far away from it all', circumscribed by breathtaking open countryside and woodland, unspoilt yet not too remote in the glorious Tilberthwaite valley.
If searching for a rural retreat with all the luxuries you long for in any fabulous cottage, yes even a roll top bath in your splendid loft bedroom, and then look no further as the most appropriate named Foxgloves has the lot.
As soon as you step inside you know you are somewhere special with the perfect blending of old Lake District charm and 21st century. Slate flagged floors, woodburner, exposed timbers, oak windows with window seats and true Lakeland views blend with leather sofas, beautiful fabrics and contemporary sophistication. This area is famous for is everlasting beauty and walks from the door include Coniston Old Man, Wetherlam and Little langdale, where you will find the popular Three Shires Inn, serving tempting food and real ales. Coniston is only a short drive with lots to see and do.
The accommodation is set over three floors and comprises; entrance into a traditional yet 'state of the art' kitchen, with all you need including a dining table for all and a slate flagged floor. The bright and spacious lounge has a stable door to the garden and patio as well as a lovely window seat overlooking the beautiful view. The room is flooded with Lakeland light and the woodburner ensures cosy nights in. Upstairs to the double bedroom and single bedroom with co-coordinating fabrics and more lovely views. The house bathroom is white and bright and then upstairs again to the special loft bedroom. The staircase opens into the middle of the room and you are surprised by the space and clever design. A French style iron bed is tempting but the ball and claw foot bath is something else, perfect for a long soak and watch a good film or gaze through the large roof lights.
